Flying Away to the Land of OZ

Happy Feathery Friday!

Well, I guess this is my parting shot...for those who don't already know..Jon and I are leaving for a two week cruise in Australia..we fly out of LAX tonight just before midnight and arrive on Sunday a.m. in Sydney. We are staying two nights in Sydney. Our room will have a view of the Opera House..we will see as much as we can. On next Tuesday, we board our cruiseship; here is our itinerary (as some peeps have been wondering): 11-11 board ship; cruise next two days; 11-14 Hamilton Island, Whitsundays; 11-15 Cairns (Yorkey's Knob); 11-16 Port Douglas; 11-17 Cooktown; 11-18 Cruise Willis Island (I hear there are 1,000's of birds here!; 11-19 cruising; 11-20 Brisbane; 11-21 cruising; 11-22 back to Sydney and back on flight back home to LA.. Our excursions we've signed up for are: 1-1/2 hour ride by catamaran to the Great Barrier Reef where we will have 3 hours to explore this wonderful place..this one is in Whitsundays. In Cairns, we will take a skyrail thru the Rain Forest and also visit the Kuranda Butterfly Sanctuary! In Port Douglas, we are going on a ride aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway and a World War II Army Duck thru the Rainforest and possibly see some pythons..eeks..to name just one of the exotic things living here..In Cookstown, I think we will just rent a scooter and take a look around..In Brisbane, we will tour by 4 WD to Mount Tamorine...have lunch at Quamby..ride on an original bush track keeping our eyes open for koala, kangaroos and reptiles..!

So I will miss you while I am gone..hoping to get a few pics along the way..Sometimes, hard on the tours...but will do the best I can..

Not sure if I will get an internet connection on ship; I believe they offer sometime that you pay probably quite a bit of money for..will play by ear..will have my laptop with so will check in if I can..Plus I think I've too much camera gear now! Bringing a back pack full plus another medium size bag for all the cams and lenses! A lot to carry on board..but we will manage..stuffed my tripod in my check in bag..!

Will miss you guys...! See you upon my return..(i will try to make a few parting comments after work and after I am completely ready and waiting to go! Missing you already!!!
