Good afternoon Gérard. This image, there is
an anachronistic element. The arch, so
elegant and perhaps older, surrounded by the
modern construction, or maybe destruction?
It gives me the same uneasy feeling as I had
with my own post of "Urban Nature
Unchained" (thank you) where one is
confronted with the sense of something gone
terribly wrong.
I will always wonder now, how the beautiful
geometry of that arch will be merged into the
hard line geometry of its new surroundings.

Ancor più dell'arco, mi piace la struttura di
sostegno della volta, che è la centina,
creata da sapienti artigiani, falegnami e
carpentieri. Si vedono cunei infissi nei
punti stragegici e pali e travi...
E' una struttura che, però, finirà per
essere distrutta!

Ha ragione Michele, stamattina non avevo ben
osservato la centina : è davvero rimarchevole
!

Mi piaceva, anche, quest'aspetto tecnico
nella mia foto !
E' un ortesi, Michele ! Non è ?

Love the title... it tells a lot about your
thoughts on the renovation project :)

The contrast between the majesty of the arch
and its age and the modernism of the
structures supporting it and surrounding it
speaks volumes - as does your very clever,
witty and ironic title.

gherm It would be interesting to know the outcome.
I hope my intuition is proved unfounded.

Sigh. With an archway like that, was it all
they felt was worth preserving?
