Hehe, this is why I love photography.

As often when taking pictures like this, I had to work a bit to get setup. The Mont-St-Michel is a good walking distance from the shore, and eventually I got almost all the way. Once getting there, I felt that taking pictures from the elevated road wasn't going to work if I wanted good reflections, so I climbed down and got wet and dirty installing my tripod in about an inch of water. Luckily the tide was receding! It took about three hours overall, but of course as always, it pays back a hundred times.

This picture is one of the first I took that night, and since it looks toward the West and the sunset, its quite bright compared to my usual dusk picture. Please look at the next picture too, I have a hard time making up my mind which one is the best. Of colors of this one are good, but I prefer the composition of the other because I didn't place the horizon in the middle.

As you can see, the bay around the Mont has been progressively filling up with sand since the road was constructed at the end of the 19th century. Its so high that grass is now growing. Thankfully there's now a project of almost 200 million Euros to make the island a real island once more.

Thanks to everyone else in the group for once more letting me sneak out on the desert so I could take these pictures. I means a lot to me. Thank you so much!
