The lower levels of the Mont-St-Michel Abbey are full of dead ends, walled doors and windows, irregularly shaped rooms and so on. Rather than having been designed at once, the abbey is the product of progressive construction and restructurations, what I would call an "organic evolution". What it lacks in design it makes up for in mystery and personality. I'm sure there's quite a few secret passages and rooms, maybe some are yet to be discovered!

This passage connects to parts of the lower abbey separated by a light well along the side of the abbey church.

The parents of my girlfriend organised this family trip to France. It was a blast. Infinite thanks to them.
