Another one where you are making my mouth
water in anticipation of my own trip! (I can
see how you might have used a Polarizer but
find it difficult to believe this required a
+ 3-stop hard gnd -- looks like the
foreground is in sunlight here.)

Thanks so much everyone...much appreciated.
John, I could be mistaken with the 3-stop,
but am pretty sure (no exif for filters ;) ).
I timed this shot right when the shadows
began to creep across the foreground - so
there was a very subdued light and a large
difference between the foreground and
background (of which the snow in the
background really didn't help controlling the
exposure) - and bracketed several shots with
multiple filters.

It's really refreshing to see a really well
done exposure photo after seeing hundreds of
horrible over-done HDR photos. For the best

As the temps roll into the 90s here in
southeast Texas, it's hard to imagine places
like this, let alone to believe. This is the
essence of landscape photography: to frame a
small part of the world and give it to
everyone who can't be there at that magical
