I love these mountain-scapes that you do.
The B&W ones are very powerful but you
couldn't ditch the colour of this sky. The
reflected blue from the snow is wonderful as
well. Great shot!! :o)>

Nice. You did a great job balancing the
highlights and shadow detail. I'm still
working on that (just one exposure?) This is
a cold departure from Senegal.

wow, so many thanks to all of you for your
very kind comments and invites! they are all
appreciated.
Fwyalchen: the lighting on this day did really lend
itself to b&w, but i'm with
you...couldn't resist leaving one with all
that blue! =)
CurtisLeeJones: nope, still don't own one. i really, really
need to get on that...i think it would have
helped this shot immensely.
HaveFun2x: this was only one exposure. funny, on this
day i had accidentally left the metering in
"center weighted" mode, not at all
good for landscapes, but i ended up liking
the effect here. it took a little more
tweaking than usual with curves and levels to
correct some of the exposure issues, but i
liked the little bit of vignetting my
metering goof left on the edges nonetheless.
Dan65: i've been here five years and never cease to
be amazed at the beauty that sits within a
short drive in any direction. i love it more
all the time...

hello dear friend. here you are again, taking
my breath away.
wow, this is just glorious. perfect
exposure, and i love how the shadows have a
bit of blue tint - it's as if the sky is
resting there.
so so good dana. you can do it all!

Yes, breathtaking is a good word for it. We
don't really have "mountains" in
the Southeast. We have some very large
hills, but no real mountains in comparison to
places like this.
Great shot.
