Day 133 of 365
My "Justice" shot for Week 17, Assignment 1 for
Take A Class With Dave And Dave .
Justice. It means so many things to so many people. Express the concept of Justice to all of us; surely we are your jury.
Justice old west style.......
I may edit this one some more. I did a
black and white of this one first and really liked how it turned out as well. I may combine the techniques of both and see how that turns out, but as it stands, this is my submission as it is closer to what I envisioned when I set up this shot.
Beer For My Horses by Toby Keith
Well a man come on the 6 o'clock news
Said somebody's been shot, somebody's been abused
Somebody blew up a building
Somebody stole a car
Somebody got away
Somebody didn't get too far yeah
They didn't get too far
Grandpappy told my pappy, back in my day, son
A man had to answer for the wicked that he done
Take all the rope in Texas
Find a tall oak tree, round up all of them bad boys
Hang them high in the street for all the people to see that
Justice is the one thing you should always find
You got to saddle up your boys
You got to draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune
We'll all meet back at the local saloon
We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singing whiskey for my men, beer for my horses
We got too many gangsters doing dirty deeds
We've got too much corruption, too much crime in the streets
It's time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground
Send 'em all to their maker and he'll settle 'em down
You can bet he'll set 'em down 'cause

I love that song. You also did a perfect
photo for the song. Your creativity is
oozing. Can I lick some up? I got a ton but
gee, sir. You've got me topped [that sounds really bad ]!

This is great! I really like the sepia
treatment and your expression is priceless!
And the costume, wow! Wonderful work!

Costume? (LOL) This is actually how I
usually looked on the weekends when I was
going out to our local country bar (minus the
gun of course).

The sepia I think works best.
Are those mould stains? Awesome.
It would be neat to post this to a
photo-restoration / colourization group and
see what they can come up with.

Age spots, mold stains.....amazing what you
can do with a few simple grunge brushes.
That was actually the hardest part. I'd
apply a spot or two and then look at it and
delete the layer and go back and do it again,
and delete, etc. I spent a lot of time going
through actual old photos online before I
came up with an image that I really REALLY
liked.

This looks like a beat-up, grainy, old
picture of a hero. Fantastic. :)

Damn, you nailed this one. Lots of gold
stars from me. Love the grain. I have taken
advantage of it myself. I've got to say that
I loathe Toby Keith, but you can stay. ;)

I thought I had replied to you already, but
apparently not. LOL.
Thanks on the first part, Ummmmm.... ok? on
the second part and yeah, I know what your
saying, but that did sound really bad! ;-)
As for your own creativity, I follow your
stream and you've got it oozing too. Don't
sell yourself short. I've got a few years of
life experience over you to draw from. You
already see the world in a unique way, just
don't loose that and you'll do just fine!

Thanks!
Yes it IS. Of course if I do move to Vegas
then I'll have to pass it down to another!
LOL. But then again, you never know when
I'll have to do another similar shot like
this one.
Thanks. Apart from you dislike of Toby, you
gotta remember he's singing with Willie (for
this particular song).

Haha, I do that ALL the time, thinking I
replied but didn't. At least I am not alone.
I try. Thanks though.
And everything I say comes out kinky but
not at the same time.

Really like the treatment...puts me in the
mind of tintype (I that's the right word for
that old-timey photography). Everything
about it is spot on.

this is to American for me, sorry, but , I
like it - reminds me of when my father (in
his gentle way) told me to go to bed and not
watch John Wayne at his best in one of his
westerns... I wanted to watch!!! wonder if
he would have allowed me to watch if I was a
boy...
