Wedded Bliss
UPDATE: Thanks, everyone! I don't pay much attention to Explore, but it's pretty darned cool to hit #1 twice in one week, and that's all thanks to your wonderful comments and favorites.
Better bigger, Flickr is oversharpening this one.
When Jerry proposed to Stefanie, she had to sit down to hyperventilate on this very bench.
Last night, I had the honor of photographing the wedding of two long-time friends, Jerry and Stefanie. It was fantastic to see them tie the knot -- and quite funny to see the faces of the relatives when the photographer put down his camera to do some James Brown splits and and old-school, Kid n' Play hip-hop routine on the dance floor.
This is the composite of twenty-something images with the 85mm f/1.4, giving it a 3D look and compressing image noise away almost completely.

Cartographers of You
(I couldn't follow president-elect Obama with just anyone.)
Nobel laureate James Watson speaks as J. Craig Venter is reflected in the Telepromter. The pair received Double Helix Awards from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory for being the founding fathers of human genome sequencing, a process which has recently led to such things as sequencing the entire genome of a cancer patient. Incidentally, both of the entire genomes of Watson and Venter can be found on the Internet. Watson joked that, among the findings, he now knows he wouldn't be able to metabolize heroin as well as his partner.
