Mo'o camo is excellent ... he even attained
the varigated redness of your pointer....
must feel like Knott's Berry Farm to him.

ruthlessly downgrade in an undergrad essay...
sigh. let's see: the air-conditioning is out,
the kids are REALLY loud, though happy, and
the ex-husband is in town and staying
here...]

Thanks, Everyone!
I don't know if he's still alive, Irene...I look for him everyday in the garage,
where I let him go. Though I didn't train
him how to use the electric garage door
opener, I'm sure he could get out if he
wanted to.
There's another gecko of similar color who
hangs out in the garage eatin' bugs and
stuff. I see it most every day. I was
hoping they'd bond. I'll continue to keep my
eyes open for the little fella.

Bill, are you sure about this gecko ID?
Check this little guy's toenails! It sure
LOOKS like a gecko, but it seems to me their
little toes are round with no toenails. Now
I gotta catch me one and examine it for
toenails!
Don't know how I missed this one!
And your fingerprint detail is awesome!

You know, I don't know. Looking at it's
eyes, the shape of its pupils are different
from that of an adult gecko or anole. In the
other shot, if you look at the large version,
you can see the little grippers on the bottom
of it's feet, which initially led me to
believe it might be a gecko.
I've never seen one this small.
Maybe it's a snake with legs?

Up there at the very beginning, Archer
referred to this as a "mo'o camo"
which might suggest that it's a chameleon?
camo is not a hawaiian word, to my knowledge
(no c's). So I'm not sure what she meant
exactly. But I have great respect for her
local knowledge....
What we need is a herp expert.
For now, it's a really cute Gecko! And I have seen them really, really small
(they spring from nowhere on our lanai, since
we have a resident adult population of the
required reproductive characteristics).

I don't speak Pidgin and am pre-programmed to
not remember any I might hear or read, so I
don't know what Archer's words meant.
The only chameleons we have here on the
island, to my knowledge, are the Jacksons and
the fake chameleons, also known as Anoles.
